The Butterfly Garden is a purpose-built sanctuary designed to comfortably accommodate up to 500 butterflies, with ample space to fly and thrive. Soft opening on June 30 and officially launching in September, the garden will feature a variety of locally found species, including the Monarch, Blue Triangle, Orchard Swallowtail, and more.

All butterflies in the enclosure are native and non-endangered, offering visitors a chance to experience the beauty of Queensland’s butterflies up close in a calm, garden-style environment.The proposed enclosure will comfortably accommodate a population of 500 butterflies. All species listed below are locally found butterflies and none of them are protected or listed as endangered species:

Varied Eggfly (Hypolimnas bolina nerina) Blue-banded Eggfly (Hypolimnas alimena) Common Crow (Euploea corinna) Monarch or Wanderer (Danaus plexippus) Lesser Wanderer (Danaus petilia) Orchard Swallowtail (Papilio Aegeus) Dainty Swallowtail (Papilio anactus) Chequered Swallowtail (Papilio sthenelus) Blue Triangle (Graphium Sarpedon) Large Grass-yellow (Eurema hecabe) Lemon Migrant (Catopsilia Pomona). The size of the greenhouse will provide excellent flying space for the butterflies.
